Jeffrey "Jeff" Johnson

Jeffrey Dean Johnson, the youngest child of LeRoy and Roberta (Somerville) Johnson, was born February 19, 1971. He passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, of natural causes. His passing was unexpected and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

He attended West Fargo Public Schools and graduated from West Fargo High School in 1989. After high school, Jeffrey attended NDSU before enlisting in the North Dakota Air National Guard. He was honorably discharged after four years of service.

For approximately 20 years, Jeff worked at Lauerman’s, which he often said was his favorite job. After Lauerman’s closed, he held various managerial positions.

Jeff had many hobbies and interests. He loved reading, hunting, fishing, woodworking and gardening. He was known for his delicious pickles and amazing salsa. Many were lucky to receive pieces of his woodworking.

Jeffrey was truly loved by everyone who knew him. His quick wit and handsome smile were just a few of his many qualities. He was reliable, genuine, trustworthy, and respectful - someone you could always be yourself around. Jeff was warm and friendly, and once you were his friend, you were a friend for life.

Family was always a priority for Jeff. His parents could always depend on him to lend a hand when needed. He cherished time spent with his nieces and nephews and loved his great-nieces and great-nephews as if they were his own grandchildren. That said, the joyful chaos of ten little ones during holiday gatherings could sometimes give him a headache.

Jeff took great pride in caring for his dogs. His Rottweiler, Bosco, held a special place in his heart for many years. Three years ago, he welcomed Deuce, a Great Dane, who became his constant companion.

He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Curtis Allen; and cousins, Samuel Somerville and Tamara Somerville.

He is survived by his parents, LeRoy and Roberta Johnson; his sisters, Teresa (Danny) Harding of Tolna, ND, and Penny Allen of Billings, MT; his brother, James (Diane) Johnson of Edmond, OK; his nieces and nephews, Garrett (Larissa) Harding, Niccolas (Samantha) Harding, Logan Harding, Caitlinn Schmidt, Andrew Stevens, Conner (Danielle) Allen, Alexandra Allen, Grayson (Tara) Johnson, Colton Johnson, Ryan Johnson, and Jacob Johnson; along with 11 great-nieces and great-nephews. Jeff also leaves behind many good friends.

Jeff was loved by family and friends alike and will be terribly missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Memorial Service: Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 2 PM, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, West Fargo, ND, with visitation one hour before the service.
