Jeffrey Harland

   Jeffrey Harland, 67, died on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, at Leach Home in Wahpeton, ND.

   Jeff was born Feb. 21, 1957, in Valley City to Charles and Clair (Altringer) Harland.  His early years were spent in the North Dakota cities of Nome, Valley City and Jamestown. He graduated in 1976 from Mapleton high school. After high school, he enlisted in the US Navy and was honorably discharged in 1980.

   In 1979, Jeffrey married Lorie Reeves, and they raised 5 children: JC, Mary, Kristy, Brandon and Kendra.  Jeff attended Moorhead Tech. and Detroit Lakes Tech. school to study diesel and small engine repair. Throughout his adult years, Jeff worked various jobs in the area, including United Rental in Fargo. After some time, he transferred with United Rental to South Carolina where he worked until he retired. Eventually, he moved back to North Dakota.

   Jeff’s hobbies included a mowing business, fishing with his family, crafting chimes and dreamcatchers, and listening to loud, old country music.

   Surviving Jeff are four of his children, JC (Chris) Harland, Fargo, Mary (Bryan) Gwin, Perley, MN, Kristy (Dustin) Harland, West Fargo, and Kendra (Jason) Dickerson, Lisbon, ND;  grandchildren, Austin, Halie, Lanie, Preston, Brody, Summer, Gage, Jewel, Jax, and Weston; great-grandchildren, Carter and Ryker; siblings, Cindy (Kevin) Odegaard of Fargo, ND, Dawn (Kevin) Gustman of Fargo, ND, and Cherie (Bill Bartholomaus) Harland, Wheatland, ND and many nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brandon Harland; brother, Scott Harland; and nephews, Justin Olson and Matthew Walker.

Service: Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024 at 11 AM at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior.

Interment: Fargo National Cemetery, rural Harwood, ND.
