After a courageous four-year battle with renal cell carcinoma, Jane Magill, 61, of Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo, under the care of hospice.
Jane Ann Magill was born on April 12, 1964, in LaMoure, North Dakota, to James and Bonnie (Peterson) Magill. A graduate of Verona High School, she continued her education in Moorhead, Minnesota. In 1989, Jane married Bradley Rustan, and together they raised three children. After their divorce in 2005, Jane moved to Fargo, where she dedicated 24 years to Ameripride, known in recent years as Aramark and Vestis.
Jane's heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren. She was a devoted hockey mom during her children's younger years, creating lasting memories at the rink and becoming a "second mom" to many of their friends. To relax and unwind, Jane enjoyed watching sci-fi and horror movies, challenging herself with word finds, and discovering treasures through online shopping. She had an eye for style and always took pride in her appearance, from her perfectly coiffed hair to her extensive jewelry collection—more than a movie star, some might say. Her love for vibrant colors and patterns was evident in her impressive collection of shoes, tie-dye shirts, and anything in her favorite color, purple.
Jane is lovingly remembered by her three children: Brandon (Erica) Rustan, Brittany (Mason) Krebsbach, and Brenda (Brandon Klevgaard) Rustan. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Breanna, Brayden, Braxton, and Blaklee; Lewis; and Emery, Harper, Benjamin, and Salem. She is also survived by her mother, Bonnie Magill; grandmother, Helen Peterson; brother, Timothy Magill; and her best friend, Brenda Anderson.
Jane is now reunited with her father, James Magill, her brother, Jeffery Magill, and her grandparents, Willis Peterson, and Thomas and Viola Magill.
The family would like to thank their cherished friends and family, along with the caring professionals at Sanford Health, Roger Maris Cancer Center, Ethos Hospice, and Bethany Nursing Home, for their kindness and support during this time.
