James "Jim" Lamb

James “Jim” Francis Lamb, 78, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, in the Sanford Hospice House, Fargo, ND.

Jim was born August 23, 1946, in Britton, SD. He grew up on the family farm in rural Cogswell, ND and graduated from Sargent Central High School.  He married his much-loved wife, Floy Edith Carpenter on August 10, 1968. Jim and Floy raised their two children, Joe and JoAnn, in Watertown, SD.

Jim proudly owned his businesses and traveled in SD, ND, MN and WY in his early working years.

He enjoyed time with family and friends; in the last number of years, he loved long conversations on the phone.  He was known for his humor and worked to bring a smile out of others. He would want everyone to know that they are special. He was grateful for all who visited with him.

Jim is survived by his wife, Floy; children, Joe Lamb, JoAnn (Travis) Paulson; grandsons, Alec, Ethan and Noah; brother, Kent (Jackie) Lamb; and brother-in-law, Daryl Hyatt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Lilly Lamb; his sister, Judy Hyatt; his brothers-in-law, Tom Hassett and Floyd Preston; and sister-in-law, Kathy Preston.
