James "Jim" Iwen Obituary

James “Jim” Iwen, 66, Casselton, ND, died on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Valley City, ND.

James “Jim” Iwen, was born on January 26, 1956, to Grace Tkachyk and Bernard Iwen in Poplar, MT. Jim grew up in Wolf Point, MT. He worked on the family dairy farm and later worked for the family grocery store. Jim graduated from Wolf Point High School.

James and Dee Ann had met at his brother and her sister’s wedding in 1982. Jim and Dee Ann later got together and eventually got married. Prior to them getting married, Jim had been married before and had a daughter, Briana. Jim and Dee Ann welcomed a baby girl, April, into their lives 9 months prior to their wedding day. They got married on December 8, 1990.  Just a couple years later they welcomed a baby boy, Cody. Jim worked several jobs so Dee Ann could stay at home with the kids. Jim worked at Dakota Muffler/Quick Lube for several years on and off. He also worked at several garbage companies as well as aggregate. He enjoyed working, having fun, doing things with the kids, dancing-especially with his wife, Dee Ann, spending time with family and playing the drums for the bands he played in.

Jim is survived by his wife Dee Ann Iwen of Casselton, ND; daughter, Briana (Brian) Iwen-Charnetzki and grandson Breylon of Woodruff, SC; daughter, April Iwen and grandchildren Izabella and Izaiah of Casselton, ND; son, Cody (Alyssa) Iwen and grandchildren Allie, Bently, Gage and Carter of Fargo, ND; siblings; Yvonne (Gary) Klinger of Billings, MT, Carol (Tom) Simonsen of Las Vegas, NV, Robert (Ione) Iwen of Billings, MT, Sherry (Gary) Wolff of Helena, MT, Kathy (Kelly) Martin of Billings, MT,  Rob (Melanie) Iwen of Buckeye, AZ, Loren (Dawn) Iwen, Casselton, ND,  Bert (Darlene) Rada of Salt Lake City, UT, Ronnie Wells of Wolf  Point, MT, Clarence Morey of Trenton, ND, Will (Dolly) Morey of Wolf Point, MT, Marty Tkachyk of Las Vegas, NV; sister-in-law, Linda Iwen of Williston, ND; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Mae Iwen, Grace and Martin Tkachyk, brother, Eugene Iwen, sister, Linda Morey, and a nephew Joey Bauer.

 

Celebration of Life:  Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at West Funeral Home, Casselton, ND, with visitation one hour before service.
