Hermoine Tehven, 95, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024 in Fargo.
Hermoine Maxine Landblom was born February 24, 1929 to Roy and Bertha (Benson) Landblom in Fargo. She attended country grade school in rural Reed Township while living on the family farm. She attended West Fargo High School for 3 years, and when the family moved into the Cass County Sherriff’s house, she transferred to Fargo Central High, graduating in 1946. She then attended NDAC (now NDSU), graduating in 1950 with a degree in Home Economics. She was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. Following graduation, she taught at the Arthur ND High School from 1950-1954.
On June 12, 1953, she was married to Rolfe (Bud) Tehven. They initially lived in Arthur before moving to the farm located NW of Fargo, where they lived for 59 years. They moved to Fargo in 2004 and then to Touchmark Retirement Center in 2012 where she lived for 12 years.
Hermoine was a lifelong member of Maple Sheyenne Lutheran Church where she was very involved throughout her years. She served as a Sunday School teacher, member of the Ladies Aide, was on the church council, as well as numerous other roles within the church. She also volunteered at Bethany Nursing Home for over 20 years.
She was an avid NDSU football and FM Redhawk baseball fan. Over the years she enjoyed a variety of activities including bowling, golfing, traveling, downhill skiing, playing cards as well as attending the activities and sporting events involving her children, grandsons, and great grandchildren. In her retirement years she excelled in playing bean bag toss as well as Wii bowling recording several perfect 300 games.
Hermoine is survived by her daughter, Von (Bill Tschakert) Tehven, son, Doug (Kathy) all of Fargo; grandsons Brent (Dianna), parents of Noah and Christian; Greg (Christy), parents of Harper, Alexander (AZ), and Sloan. Brother -in- laws Donald (Mary)Tehven, Jon Tehven, and Jim Iwen; sister-in-laws Marjeanne Tehven and Ileen Tehven as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud, of 62 years; brother Russell (Violet) Landblom; great granddaughter, Ella Jo Tehven; mother and father- in- law Wendell and Gina Tehven; brothers -in -laws Marvin (Jane)Tehven and Lowell Tehven; sister-in laws Beverly (John) Hest, Patricia Iwen, Gloria Tehven, and Darlene Tehven; and several nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Maple Sheyenne Church Memorial Fund or Great Plains Food Bank.
Visitation: Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 2 to 4 PM with a prayer service at 4 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND. (The service will be recorded and uploaded here on the website for viewing Sunday evening)
Funeral: Monday, March 18 at 11 AM at Maple Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Harwood with visitation one hour prior. (The service will be recorded and uploaded here on the website for viewing Monday afternoon)
Interment: Maple Sheyenne Cemetery.
