Harriet Rygg

   Harriet Rygg, 90, of Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo, ND.

   Harriet Jean Rygg was born on January 25, 1935, in Stephen, MN, the daughter of Oscar and Ingrid (Nelson) Carpenter. She graduated from Stephen High School in Stephen, MN, and attended beauty school in Grand Forks, ND after which she spent many years working in her own salon that was always located in the basement of her home. Harriet married Lloyd Rygg on March 1, 1984. She loved their winters in Mesa, AZ and enjoyed when her family would visit. She was active in a variety of social groups in Apache Wells, spending time with her wide circle of friends, and looked forward to their trips back home each spring to host the many visitors from family and friends at Maple Lake. Harriet will be deeply missed.

   She is survived by her children, Vicki (Daryl) Jelinek, West Fargo, ND, Randy Bohach, Post Falls, Idaho, and Lynda (Sean) Hobart, Las Vegas, NV; her sister Ann (Tom) Walski, Devils Lake, ND; and many more loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and relatives.

   She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers Allen, John, and Robert and sisters Shirley, Ardyce, and Phyllis.

A private family service will be held to honor Harriet.
