George Grindberg, 91, Fargo, ND (formerly Page, ND) passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, under the compassionate care of Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Fargo, North Dakota, on March 10, 1934, to Clarence and Elizabeth (Lutes) Grindberg. George graduated from Mapleton High School in 1952. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army before returning to North Dakota, where he farmed near Page.
On December 26, 1954, George married the love of his life, Carol Mae Swanson. Together they celebrated 70 wonderful years of marriage this past December with family and friends.
George was deeply rooted in his community. He was named Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year for both Cass and Barnes Counties and was honored as a Cass County NDSU Harvest Bowl recipient. He was a 4-H leader, served on numerous boards, and was a respected leader and mentor throughout his life.
He especially cherished time at the lake with his family and enjoyed winters in Mesa during retirement.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:30 a.m. and lunch at West Funeral Home, 321 Sheyenne Street, West Fargo.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Carol; their children: Debra (Dan) Wogsland, Rodney (Lorie) Grindberg, Denise (Steve) Peck, and Deanne (Jim) Drummond; bonus daughter, Diane Harrum; grandchildren: Amber (Torry Reutter) Wogsland, Adam (Coley) Wogsland, Aric Wogsland, Lisa Grindberg, Thomas Grindberg, Sharlynn (Devin) Knutson, Scot (Jessica) Peck, and Chloe Drummond; and five great-grandchildren: Riley, Brantley, Henley, Hadalyn, and Quinn; sister, Frances Yokom; sister-in-law, Shirley Grindberg; and many nieces and nephews.

We take comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior. Though we grieve his absence, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life.
