Garrett Keith Raedel, 39, of Fargo, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. Garrett was born October 23, 1986, in Fargo, ND, to Keith and Linda (Hamann) Raedel. He was raised in West Fargo and attended West Fargo High School before later earning his GED through West Fargo Community High School.
Garrett spent much of his life working in the service industry and was currently employed at Red Lobster in Fargo where many of his customers said he was the best waiter they ever had. Wherever Garrett went, people remembered him. He had a natural ability to make others laugh, start conversations with anyone, and make people feel welcomed and valued. He genuinely loved being around others, including family, friends, old friends, and new ones alike.
Music was at the center of Garrett’s life. He loved sharing songs, driving around with the music up, biking throughout Fargo Moorhead with his ear buds in, watching sunsets, and spending time outdoors. He loved a beautiful day and lived for summertime.
Garrett appreciated life for what it was: the people you met, the memories you made, and the moments in between. He was deeply involved in the NA community and was always willing to help someone who needed support, encouragement, or simply someone to listen.
Those who knew Garrett will remember his humor, kindness, free spirit, and the way he embraced life and the people around him. He took in all life had to offer and left a lasting impact on many.
He is survived by his mother, Linda Raedel (Ed Erickson) of Milnor, ND; his sister, Meghan Leith (Garrick) of West Fargo; his brother, Logan Raedel of Milnor; nieces, Penelope Wilson and Daxyn Leith; along with many extended family members, friends, and members of the recovery community who loved him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his father, Keith Raedel; grandparents, Paul and Carole Hamann and Walter and Johanna Raedel; aunt, Cheryl Engelker; first cousins, Ryan Seamands and Chad Hamann; and many friends lost far too soon to addiction.
Celebration of Life: 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2026, at West Funeral Home in West Fargo, with a Time of Sharing beginning at 3:00 p.m. during the Celebration of Life.
