Frances Larson of Buffalo, ND, died Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Sheyenne Crossings in West Fargo, ND one day short of her 98 birthday.
Frances E. Kasowski was born April 16, 1923 in Casselton, ND to Raymond and Lavina (Roden) Kasowski. She attended country school and graduated from Buffalo High School. Frances attended Moorhead State College and then moved to California with her aunt and cousin where she worked at a defense plant as a “Rosie the Riveter.” She returned to ND where she married Gordon Larson on October 19, 1943 in Casselton. They made their home in Buffalo. She worked for McCann’s Grocery and later as a postal worker, retiring as Postmaster in Tower City, ND.
Gordon and Frances spent many winters in Mesa, AZ, traveling in their RV and enjoyed summers at the lake in MN. Frances was a great baker and enjoyed baking cakes for many celebrations. She was a great seamstress and loved to read, cook and play cards.
She is survived by three daughters, Judy Szczepanik, Gilbert, AZ, Janice (Roger) Delano, Green Bay, WI, Jane Anderson, West Fargo; five granddaughters, Darci (Terry) Garrigan, Misti Charles, Lindsi (Adam) Stordeur, Witney Anderson and Cassie Anderson; five great grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Johnson, Fargo and James Kasowski, Dilworth, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; sons-in-law, Clyde Anderson & Ed Szczepanik and brothers, Earl (Mary), Robert (Margaret), Arthur (Pat) and Harold (Marian) Kasowski, and sister in-law Corinne Kasowski.
Visitation: Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service 7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo
Funeral Mass: Monday, April 19 at 10:30 AM at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Casselton, ND with visitation one hour prior.
Burial: Buffalo Cemetery.
