Floyd Alan Strouse of West Fargo ND passed away on Thursday October 12th at Bethany on University in Fargo ND.
Floyd was born July 30, 1948, in Great Falls MT, the son of Floyd V and Dorine C (DuBois) Strouse. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and attended Minot High. Floyd served in The US Army and was honorably discharged in 1970. He was proud of his service to his county and would proudly wear his Native Veteran hat whenever he could. On June 15th, 1968, he was united in marriage to Carol Olsen in Minot ND, to this union two daughters Tess and Mary Jo were born. Floyd moved to Devils Lake where he worked at Sioux Mfg. alongside of his brother Arlen. He later moved to Grand Forks ND where he was hired as the bakery manager at Albertsons Grocery Store. This is where Floyd met the love of his life, Linda Shedd. In 1981 they welcomed their son Dezi into the world, making their home in Omaha NE until Linda’s untimely passing in 2006. Floyd and Dezi decided to move to Fargo to be closer to family. Floyd loved to bake and was very proud of his baked goods. Floyd made the wedding cake for many family members and in later years he would send pictures of pies and cakes he made saying “I still got it” or “looked what I just baked”. He loved the 4th of July with all the fireworks and dressing up for Halloween. 420 also held a special place in his heart, you will either get it or you won’t. If there was a prank being played on you, you can bet Floyd had something to do with it as he loved to prank and goof around with people as he was just a kid at heart. Floyd loved his family above anything else.
