Eileen Kaehler

Eileen Kaehler, age 80, of Fargo, ND, died Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Bethany on 42nd, Fargo.

Eileen Marie Wright was born October 1, 1942, at St. John’s Hospital in Fargo, the daughter of Donald and Bertha (Vettel) Wright.  She grew up on the family farm near Caledonia, ND, and graduated from Caledonia High School in 1960.  

On February 3, 1962, Eileen was united in marriage to DeWayne Kaehler at Hillsboro, ND.  Following, they lived at Hillsboro, later moving to Fargo, West Fargo, and Harwood, ND.   During those years, they raised three children.  In 2020, she moved to Bethany on 42nd.  

Eileen had worked as a seamstress at Mandel Furs in Fargo, she also did alterations and sewing from her home.   While living at Harwood, she operated a daycare for several years.  She enjoyed ceramics, sewing, quilting, macramé and crocheting.  Eileen loved being with her family and caring for people.  Her family remembers her as “liking to be in charge!”  She loved clothing, shoes, and “Bling”.   They always had cats and dogs as part of the family.  Eileen was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, West Fargo.

She is survived by her husband DeWayne; one son Donald, Argusville, ND; two daughters, Linda (Terry) Monson, Fargo, and Karen (Scott) Sanders, West Fargo; and by Mike Heintzelman, Leonard, ND, who was raised as a son; six grandchildren: Matthew Monson, Luke Sanders, Emily Monson, Alex Sanders, Cole Sanders and Linnya Sanders.   Also by siblings Elaine (Curt) Vangness, Fargo, Donna (Butch) Koehmsted, Thief River Falls, MN, Tim (Sandy) Wright, Hillsboro, ND, Mary (LaVern) Schiele, Horicon, WI, Dan (Lisa) Wright, Leonard, ND, John (Terri) Wright, Hillsboro, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, grandchild Krislynn Sanders. 

Mass of Christian Burial:   Friday, January 27, 2023, at 2 pm in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, West Fargo, ND, with Visitation held one hour prior to her service.
