It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eileen Rose Calkins, who departed this life on December 3, 2024, at the age of 74, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Eileen was the embodiment of grace, strength, and compassion. She was a brave warrior in the face of adversity, strong in her convictions, and endlessly kind to everyone she met. Her beauty was as radiant as her heart, and her intelligence left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
Eileen was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She dedicated her life to nurturing her family and bringing joy to those around her. Her laughter filled every room she entered, and her wisdom was a guiding light to all who sought her advice.
Her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She taught us to cherish every moment, to face challenges with unwavering courage, and to love deeply and unconditionally.
Eileen is survived by her loving family and countless friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Eileen is survived by her loving husband Daniel Calkins, daughter Angela Calkins Humrich, granddaughter Aeyana Calkins, son Paul Calkins (daughter-in-law Diana), granddaughter Taya Calkins, brother Steve Schielke, sister Barb Swank, sister Becky Hall, brother Matthew Schielke (wife Cecelia), brother Jim Schielke (wife Debbie), sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Virginia Schielke, and son-in-law Billy Humrich.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Breast Cancer’s research organization in her honor.
Eileen Rose Calkins was a woman of remarkable strength and kindness, and her light will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those who loved her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered as a brave warrior!
