Dyane Marie Bjordal
April 26, 1970- March 9, 2023
Dyane (Olson) Bjordal of Audubon, MN passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her husband and children on March 9, 2023, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Dyane Marie Olson, daughter of Dudley and Loree Olson was born April 26, 1970 in St. Paul, MN. Dyane was raised in North Mankato, MN, alongside her younger brother, Doug and older step-sister, Jill. Dyane graduated Mankato West High School in 1988. She studied Law Enforcement at the University of Minnesota Mankato.
Dyane moved to Sioux Falls, SD in 1992. She met Brian Bjordal in 1993 while working in Sioux Falls. They were married on May 14, 1994 in Mankato, MN. They moved to Brookings, SD and on December 2, 1996, their daughter, Morgan Nicole was born in Sioux Falls. They moved around South Dakota following Brian’s career with Walmart and were living in Sioux Center, Iowa, when their son, Jared Dean was born on January 8, 2001. The family settled in Aberdeen, SD in 2003. While living in Aberdeen Dyane opened and successfully operated 3 consignment stores. Dyane had such a passion for her businesses and made many life-long friends because of them. Even though she was running 3 businesses, Dyane always put her family first. She was always there to take Morgan to dance, Girl Scouts and play practice and Jared to football, basketball, and baseball. Dyane enjoyed traveling with her family; going to baseball tournaments, camping, spending time at the lake, and going up North every summer.
Dyane and Brian purchased a cabin on Mina lake in 2013 and enjoyed spending weekends and summers there with the kids and the dogs. They eventually purchased a home on Mina lake and lived there until they moved to Audubon, MN in the summer of 2020. Dyane was always most at home at the lake where she could photograph sunrises, sunsets, the changing of the seasons, and her personal favorite, the loons.
Dyane impacted the lives of so many people, not by just being a successful business woman, but in the way that she loved people. Dyane loved people in a way that was intentional, genuine, and unapologetically Dyane. Dyane was strong, brave, courageous, determined, loving, and kind… all things that she raised her children to be. She believed in and loved the Lord and raised her children to be strong in their faith. Dyane’s legacy of kindness, selflessness, humor, and love will live on not only in her children, but in all of those who loved her. Even though she is gone, her light will continue to shine brightly.
Dyane is survived by her husband of 28 years, Brian; children, Morgan and Jared; her father, Dudley; brother, Doug; mother-in-law, Diane Bjordal, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews, and many friends and family whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Loree; maternal and paternal grandparents, and her father in law, Jon Bjordal.
