Duane R. Schultz, 85, Prior Lake, MN, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024, formerly from Fargo, ND, and Michigan, ND.
Duane Richard Schultz was born April 8, 1939, the son of Ellis and Hannah (Dahl) Schultz. He was raised, baptized in 1941, confirmed in 1954 and graduated in 1957 in Michigan, ND. After graduation, he joined the Army, serving in Korea from 1957 to 1959. He worked for the highway patrol in 1962 in Grand Forks. Then he married Donna Sell in 1963 and had 2 daughters, Laura and Brenda. Later they divorced.
Duane worked for the police and highway patrol for a number and years and then decided to change professions. He had a few different jobs but worked for the last 30 years as a semi-driver. When he retired, was very proud of his 3 million miles that were accident free. After he retired, he spent over 20 years being a snowbird in Arizona.
During his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his later years, he enjoyed buying/fixing up and selling properties. In his spare time, his true passion was playing golf, and he became very good at it. He was also a Vikings fan. He enjoyed his weekly talks/phone calls with Rob about all the stress he had watching the games.
Duane is survived by his two loving daughters, Laura Riley (Greg Hoffmann), Comfrey, MN and Brenda Pratt (Robert Hicks), Shakopee, MN; grandson, Dylan Pratt; sister, Maureen Schultz, Moorhead, MN; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Schultz, West Fargo, ND and Susie Schultz, Michigan, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Merle Schultz and William “Bill” Schultz; and a niece, Casey Schultz.

Celebration of Life: Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 11 AM, at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND, with visitation one hour before the service.
Interment: Michigan Cemetery, Michigan, ND.
