Drew Middlebrook Obituary

Drew Stephen Middlebrook was born December 30th, 1987 to Steven and Linda Middlebrook in Cresco, IA. From a young age it was known that he had a mischievous and sarcastic side to him that would follow him throughout his life. Yet he would always find a way to come out of his sticky situations a better man and having learned something about himself. He graduated from Crestwood High School in 2006. From there he moved to Rochester, MN in 2009 where he met his life long friend Eric Beck. The two of them would eventually help each other in their roads of recovery which led them both to Fargo, ND. It was here that Drew found his home away from home. Drew had found his people. With his spiked hair and bedazzled Rock Revival jeans he soon became a known face in the mostly anonymous recovery community. He would attend many Narcotics Anonymous events where his infectious laugh and sarcastic, arrogant attitude would engulf the entire room.

It was in the rooms of Narcotics Anonymous that he was introduced to A.R.M. (Association of Recovering Motorcyclists) thru his hetero-life mate Tylor Schaumburg. The two of them met early on in recovery and became instant best friends when Eric made the decision to start a family in Brainerd. During his time in recovery he strengthened his bonds with his family who he loved dearly and cherished every last moment spent with them. He became the adopted uncle Drew, Drewberry, and Drewber to so many children of his friends. His brothers in A.R.M. lovingly called him Slick because of his ability to ride his motorcycle down to bare tires. He loved to travel and went on a trip to Europe twice. One time with his father who shared the same love for World War 2 history that he did. The second time he rode thru Europe on motorcycle with his brothers in A.R.M.

Drew left us on March 21st, 2022 with a hole in our hearts. But if you ask anyone who knew him, he would always make them feel like they were the most special person in his life whenever they were together. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Harlan and Wilda Middlebrook, and Chuck and Tilly DeWalle , and his brother Tylor Schaumburg. Please remember his love for music by blaring Slipknot, Deftones or Metallica as loud as you can.

He is survived by his loving parents Steve and Linda Middlebrook, and sister Lindsay (Chris) Marti. Along with his many brothers and sisters in A.R.M. Ride free brother! Give heaven some hell for us left behind.
