Dear Hope,
We just learned of the tremendous loss you and your children experienced. Our hearts are heavy for you. I'm not sure if you remember us. You treated my daughter, Sierra, and son, Reece. Also, Reece was born around the time as your twins. I pray that your family will find comfort in the memories of Christian. Our thoughts and prayers will be with all of you. Dear Hope and children,
I just learned of Christians passing. My heart breaks for you and your family. I remember sharing a table with the two of you at the Sweetheart Ball banquet. What fun was had!
Here is the Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi. May it give you comfort.
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace, Where there hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love.
For it is in the giving we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is dying hat we are born into eternal life.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Hope and Family,

We never had the chance to meet but I did have the blessing to meet Christian over the years through our pharmacy profession. Thank you for sharing your story – it provides affirmation of what I assumed, he was a loving husband and awesome dad. Your (husband) and (father) was indeed a passionate person. He possessed an infectious smile and always willing to share a conversation and bounce a crazy idea off me. We will all miss him. May the memories you have, provide you with some comfort and a smile.

What an absolutely nice, friendly and pleasant person. I was so shocked to get the news that he had passed. You and your family have been in my prayers daily. I feel so lucky that I had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful man. God be with you all as you go through a very difficult time Very lovingly

Hope, I was so sad to hear about Christian's passing today. I met Christian a few years ago at the Academic Research Fellows Program that AACP held. It was a joy to meet him and learn from him. He was brilliant and so full of life. He spoke lovingly of you and your children. I remember one time he brought a super-cool high tech guitar out of his book bag (it was that small) and showed us how he played it. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your children. Know that Christian will be seriously missed.

To Hope and your children,

I had the pleasure to sit down and have lunch with Christian the past two weeks. I am currently a pharmacy student at Concordia and got to know him very well the past 4 years. He talked about you all so much. I know he loved each and everyone of you. And to Hope, he spoke of your sacrifice and love for him. It meant so much to him and he appreciated it. He was someone that was always positive and had an infectious laugh. He taught me many things, but the one thing I will take away from him was that he was a man of God who devoted himself to showing this through his works. I am inspired by his legacy to make an impact in this world.

Hang in there and my condolences to the Albano's......

Albano Family,

I am so very saddened and shocked to hear about Christian’s passing. His smile, laugh, kindness and spirit are what I will always remember. He had a way of making even the mundane pieces of life fun. Christian, Vivienne and I spent hours waiting for and riding the school bus together to both SIJ and NAZ. (Not to mention all the carpooling, sporting events, parties, school functions, etc.)
I wish all the Albano’s peace during this terrible time. Your family has another special angel looking over you! I hope Christian’s love for you and the examples he set in life guide you not only during this time, but throughout your lives!

Dr. Albano was one of the first professors I got to know well while starting school in Concordia. He reached out to me over LinkedIn and provided me a great research opportunity while showcasing the world of public health. At school, he was always eager to help both students and faculty by volunteering to represent a class for competitions, by being a simulated patient for labs, and even by being an active listener & "Jiminy Cricket" to whatever has been stressing you. When we weren't working on research, we bonded over food, checking out Asian restaurants and food carts in the Milwaukee area. He was a tito (uncle) to me in every sense of the word and more, giving students like me a home away from home while he was on campus. Thoughts and prayers go out to the Albano family; Tito Christian surely will be missed.

So sorry for your loss. I was fortunate to meet and get to know Christian while working at NDSU with the College of Health Professions. He was a joy to visit with as we started first with basketball conversations and then on to his career and, most importantly to him, you and his family. He was very proud of you all and I told him I was very much looking forward to meeting you. I loved his laugh and the twinkle in his eyes. I know you will hold him in your heart and cherish your memories of time together until you meet again. God bless you and your family.

Christian was my golf buddy here at Concordia. We also shared the joy and laughter of being Bears and Vikings fans here in Packer land. I will miss looking up from my desk and seeing him standing at my door with a mischievous grin. No doubt plotting a way for us to sneak out for a round a golf. I will miss my friend, or in Christian’s words my “Filipino little brother”. Hope, Ella, Truman and Tyger; you have been and will be in my thoughts and prayers.

A single tear rolled down my cheek
I was so in shock I could not speak
When a friend or loved one passes away
We never know just what to say
We are so sad and struck with grief
That there passing away is beyond our belief
Most of us will get angry and annoyed
Because we don’t know how to fill the void
See there is a value and a cost
For every soul that is lost
So what do we do?
What do we say?
When a precious life passes away
Do we stand there in total silence?
Trying to hide our rage and violence
Or do we stand in quite fear
Trying to hold back a sea of tears
See today I cried a single tear
For those I‘ve lost throughout the years
Still not knowing what to say
And trying to just get through the day
So if you pass before I do
I hope you know I’ll cry for you

I am not sure how to express the emotions that I feel after reading your letter to Christian. I can’t imagine the pain that you and your family are going through. What I can say is after reading your letter to Christian we the rest of the world can only hope that someone loves us that much in the end. The heart felt emotion that was felt in that letter has brought tears to my eyes and will do so for a long time to come. Even though my prayers go out to you and your family, I would like to share my wish for you and your family. I wish that one day the pain will fade and that the joy and happiness that Christian left you with shines through. I wish that for every tear you cry you also have a joyous memory to cherish for all the days of your life. I wish that you find the strength to keep the silly things close to your heart as that will keep Christian’s memory close and strong and alive within your heart. I had the pleasure of meeting Christian once and I believe that he is and was an amazing person, as I know in my heart that you being an amazing person yourself would never settle for less. May you be blessed by all that is Holy and know that my heart truly breaks for you and your family.

Christian was not only an amazing mentor, but also a great friend. Christian and I spent almost every day together for the entire 2015-2016 school year at CUW. I reached out to him prior to this school year, as a young pharmacy student, to assist me in my passion for public health and it was the best decision I have ever made. Christian was the king of networking and innovation. He allowed me to experience things that this Wisconsin kid never thought he would. He gave me the confidence and wisdom to better myself as a professional and an individiual. I honestly can say that I am devistated that our relationship was cut short, but I know that I will never forget him. I will pass on his legacy in Wisconsin to the best of my ability, although I know my rendition will be no where near as amazing as he truly was.

RIP my self proclaimed "filipino uncle.:

It's because of social media that I was able to meet up with those two and many others that I hadn't seen in years. Christian truly was one of kind, always happy, smiling, funny, supportive and very thoughtful. I'm sure that these are all traits along with so many more that he has carried with him through. Many prayers for his family and friends that will miss him more than words could ever express but know that he will never leave your side, he just has more freedom to be wherever you are. Christian was such a friendly man, full of life, loving, and kind to all. When I applied for my current position at NDSU, Christian was my host, and drove me around for the interview activities. He put me at ease, made me feel welcome, and represented NDSU as a pro.
