Dorothy Zdeb

Dorothy E. Zdeb, 91, of West Fargo, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025, at SMP Health-Maryhill, Enderlin, ND. Dorothy was born July 7, 1933, on the famly farm near Fingal, ND, to Henry and Julia (Sherman) Steidl.  She was raised there and graduated from the Fingal High School in 1951. Dorothy and Joseph Zdeb were married July 17, 1951, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fingal.  Dorothy became a military wife and was a stay-at-home Mom raising their six children Kathy, Chuck, Ken, Stan, Greg and Al. Joe, Dorothy and family lived in many places while Joe was with the U.S. Air Force including:  Anchorage, AK, Panama City, FL, Fingal, ND, Mesa, AZ, Biloxi, Mississippi, Salt Lake City, UT, Bismark, ND, then back to Biloxi, Tucson, AZ.  After Joe retired and selling the farm, they moved to Harwood, ND and later to West Fargo. 

Dorothy became a farm wife and enjoyed gardening, canning and freezing, mowing and keeping a perfect lawn, and lots of flowers.  Dorothy and Joe traveled Europe and visited Germany many times, also Austria and France.  They were members of the Harwood Senior Citizens and together enjoyed many senior citizen’s bus trips.   Dorothy also was involved with Meals on Wheels.  She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in West Fargo.  Joe passed away December 13, 2017.  Dorothy became a resident in 2022, at  Maryhill in Enderlin, ND..

 Grateful for having shared in her life are her children:  Kathy Schiessler,  Chuck (Larisa),  Ken, Stan (Kaivel Ann) Greg (Dawn) and Allen;  grandchildren:  Jen (Eddie),  Joe, Katie (Steve), Nick (Cassidy), Dan (Amber), Laila (Eric), Elizabeth and Vince;  great-grandchildren:  Logan, Hannah, David, Mara, Zoe and Luke;  brothers: Donald and Paul (Jeannine).

 Preceding her in death:  parents; husband, Joe; brother:  Henry and sister:  Mitzi.
