Dorothy Ann Olson

Dorothy Ann Olson, 96, a resident of Bethany in Fargo, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024.

Dorothy was born October 15, 1927, in Valley City, ND.  She grew up on a farm in Fort Ransom, ND.  Dorothy attended rural school and graduated in Fort Ransom in 1945, and went on to receive her teaching degree from Valley City State College and Nebraska State College.  She taught for a number of years in many North Dakota communities.  Then accepted a teaching position in Rochester, MN and taught 4th grade there for 30 years.  Dorothy loved to travel with her friends throughout her life.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles, shopping and collecting antiques.  Dorothy moved to West Fargo because she wanted to spend more time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by nieces:  Debbie (Sid) Schmidt, and DeAnn (Wayne) Gronbeck; nephews: Bryan (Laurie) Olson, Brent (Carmen) Olson, Michael (Happy) Olson, Jody (Michelle) Olson; sisters-in-law:  Doraine Olson and Rita Olson.

Preceding her in death by her parents:  Nora (Larson) and Ludvig Olson and brothers:  Duane and Kermit

Funeral:  11 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Standing Rock Lutheran Church, Fort

Ransom, ND.

Visitation:  An hour before the service.

Interment: Standing Rock Lutheran Cemetery, Fort Ransom, ND.
