Dorothy Burrows

Dorothy Burrows, age 87, of Roundup, MT, formerly of Sheyenne, ND,  died Monday, September 19, 2022, at Billings Clinic Hospital, Billings, MT.

Dorothy Jean Bartlett was born June 30, 1935, to Allen and Lucy Bartlett in McHenry, ND.   She married James Burrows on June 1, 1955, and they lived in Sheyenne, ND.  They had two children, a daughter Rita (David) Ystebo, and a son, James “JP” Burrows.    Dorothy was known for her great cooking, caramel rolls and coffee parties.   After Jim’s death, Dorothy moved to Fargo, ND, for a time before moving to Roundup, MT,  where she met the second love of her life, Florin Soennichsen, and has lived there for the last 23 years.  Florin has two sons, David and Florin, Jr (Audra).  The real loves of her life were her two grandsons, David “DJ” (Anna) and Derek (Ashley).  She never missed a day without talking to one of them.   One of her greatest pleasures was coming back to North Dakota to spend time with her family.

She was preceded in death by James, her husband of 44 years, son JP, three brothers Bill, Dick, and Bobby, and four sisters Daisy, Maggie, Goldie and Evanell. 

A Private Graveside Service will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Riverside Cemetery in Sheyenne, ND.
