Doreen Halvorson

   Doreen Halvorson, 85, of West Fargo, died on Monday, November 6, 2023, under hospice care, at Sanford Hospice House in Fargo, ND.

   Doreen Yvonne Jacobson was born on September 9, 1938 in Pekin, ND, to Clarence and Clarine (Hanson) Jacobson.

   On October 14, 1956, she married Lloyd Halvorson at Sheyenne Lutheran Church in Pekin, ND. They lived in West Fargo, ND and worked for Bristol Distributing. Doreen later went on to work for Hudson Foods, retiring in 2002.

   Doreen enjoyed dancing, bowling, gardening, baking, and time spent with family and grandkids.

   Doreen is survived by her children, Linda Hayden, Mesa, AZ, Lonnie Halvorson, West Fargo, and Lisa (John Pecka) Hoefs, West Fargo; 5 grandchildren, Joel Freeman, San Tan Valley, AZ, Robert (Lindsay) Freeman, Fargo, ND, Michael (Ellen) Ramos, Denver, CO, Daniel (Amy) Halvorson, Arvada, CO, and Heather (Travis) Warner, Douglas, WY; 8 great-grandchildren, Robert, Tatum, Bridger, Harper, Nolan, Knox, Charlie, and Isabell.

   She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; one son, Lee Halvorson; her parents; two brothers, Dennis and Gary Jacobson; and one sister, Gaylene Albert.

   Memorials are preferred to Sanford Hospice House.

   Memorial Service: Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
