Donna Mae Halvorson

Donna Mae (Gunderson) Halvorson, Fargo, passed away at home with family by her side on November 30th, 2022

Donna was born September 5th, 1932, and raised in the Tolna/McVille, ND area. She married John H. Halvorson, of Glenfield, ND, on December 2nd, 1948.  Glenfield is where they made their home and raised a family. 

Donna was Head Cook at the Glenfield-Sutton High School, and later worked as a CNA at the Carrington Health Center. She finished her career retiring after 31 years from the U.S Postal Service. She and John enjoyed winters in Arizona. In 2001, after John’s passing, Donna moved to Rio Verde, AZ. In 2012, she moved to Fargo to be closer to family. Donna had many interests including traveling, reading, and singing.  She especially enjoyed her family and family dinners.

She is survived by her children: James, Hannaford, ND; Linda (Ralph) Burgess, Fargo; Barbara (Tony Heinze) Anderson, Dazey, ND; Joan (Gerald Rudnick) Halvorson, Jamestown, ND; Susan (Jon) Goplen, Fargo; Son-in-Law Roger Kolpin, Fargo. Siblings: Beverly Dullum, Gardner, ND; Shirley Skauge, Fargo; and Harry (Ruth) Gunderson, Las Vegas, NV. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and several nieces & nephews.

She is greeted in heaven by her husband, daughters, Pamela Kolpin and Connie Marie (infant); brother, Jerome; her parents, Harry and Florence (Wold) Gunderson; and beloved dog, Sheena.

Memorial Service:  Friday, December 9, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at West Funeral Home Chapel in West Fargo, ND, with visitation one hour before service.
