On Thanksgiving Day, following dinner and conversation and surrounded by his family, the Lord unpectedly took Donald John Amerman, to join his parents, John & Gloria Amerman in the Gates of Heaven. From there, they will look over the remainder of the family and guide them through their journey in life.
Donald was born September 13, 1965, the second oldest of 10 children, born to John and Gloria Amerman in Oakes, ND. He grew up in Forman, ND graduating from Sargent Central High School in 1983.
Following high school, after a brief work stint in Forman, Donald followed his love of the military and enlisted in the US Navy, where he was stationed in Norfolk,VA aboard the USS Guadalcanal, being honorably discharged in 1991 Don was employed by CNH Tractor plant for the past 27 years.
Don was united in marriage to the love of his life, Joey (Koenig) Amerman on April 13, 1998. This marriage provided the biggest joys, his son Steven and daughter Katelynn (Scootch). Don loved fishing and hunting and shared this passion with his children, along with the love of the NDSU Bison and Minnesota Vikings football and taking care of their multiple dogs.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Joey, children, Steven and Katelynn, both of Fargo, his 9 siblings, Jackie Gaylord (son Patrick, Jessica & daughter Audrey), Fargo, Joseph Amerman, Fargo, Shawna (Arne) Kujanson (Daniel, Noah, Maggie), Forman, Mary McCleery (son John, Bismarck and special friend Jon Tollefson) Detroit Lakes, MN, Kari (George) Samus (Madilynn, Sophia, Freeman) Wichita Falls, TX, Michael (Tina) Amerman (Sidney, Jackson, Maxwell), Fargo, David (Kimbra) Amerman (Mackenzie, Avery), Kindred, Dean Amerman Forman, Dale Amerman Forman, aunts and uncles Bill & Roz Amerman, Jerry & Lori Amerman, Uschi Hanson, George Thompson, in-laws Marty & Nancy Koenig, Jamestown, brother in-law Tracy (Karla) Koenig (Kaylee, Karter) Horace.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John & Gloria Amerman, uncle Freeman & aunt June Amerman, uncle Leroy & Aunt Anna Martin, uncle Roger Hanson, aunt Janice Thomspon, brother in-law Mike Gaylord, nephew Isiah Kujanson and cousins Tom Hanson & Josh Amerman.
Visitation: Monday, one hour prior to the service
Service: Monday, December 6, 10:30 a.m. West Funeral Home Chapel
Interment: Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, ND.
