Diane Aafedt Obituary

Diane Lynn Wegener was born February 28, 1948 to Earl and Hazel (Peterson) Wegener in Minot, ND.  She attended Minot public schools through high school.  In 1967, Diane married Kieth Teschendorf and they had 2 daughters, Tanya and Beth.  In 1986 Diane married her soulmate, Charles R. Aafedt.  They spent most of their years in the Fargo area and a short time on Big Floyd Lake.  In 2014, Diane moved to Wichita, KS to be closer to her newborn granddaughter, Sara.  In September 2019, Diane moved back to Fargo to be close with family.

Diane’s smile was unforgettable and she could spin a good yarn.  She enjoyed decorating and redecorating her homes over the years. Diane loved the many dogs she had over the years and her cat, Muffin.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was especially close to her oldest grandchild, Samantha.  Diane passed away January 28, 2020, after a very short, unexpected illness.  Diane battled Cancer for many years, however recently was in remission.  She was a fighter and fought to the very end.  Special thanks to the staff at Sanford Palliative Care, Sanford Hospice, and to her favorite Dr. Preston Steen.  Thank you also to West Funeral Home.

Diane leaves behind her daughters: Tanya Kippen (Jimmy Panek), West Fargo, ND; Beth Kay (John), Wichita, KS; Grandchildren: Samantha Teschendorf (Jeff Westberg), Duncan Kippen, of West Fargo, ND and Sara Hope Kay.  Sister, Barb Hjermstad, Nephew, Mark Hjermstad (Mary), and their children Brandon (Samantha) and Douglas Hjermstad.  Diane also leaves behind her beautiful cat, Muffin.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Charles, Aunts Inez (Robert) Serr and Helma (Harley) Brandt, and Uncle Jerry Peterson.  Brother in law, Douglas Hjermstad.

A private gathering will be held this summer.
