Delores “PeeWee” Breker, 94, Fargo, ND, formerly Cayuga, ND, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026 at HIA Heather’s House in Fargo.
Delores Y. Evenson was born April 2, 1932 at Rutland, ND to Harold “Duke” and Minnie (Rodlund) Evenson. She graduated from high school in Cogswell, ND.
She worked at Bell Telephone in Oakes, ND and later Fargo, ND.
Delores married Ralph Breker on October 17, 1953 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Fargo, ND. They made their home in Tewaukon Township near Cayuga/Rutland, ND. They farmed, raised livestock and had a trucking business.
She served on the Cayuga Cemetery Board and the ASCS County Committee. She was a member of the Homemakers Club and enjoyed playing cards, dancing and the occasional trip to the Casino. She was also a fixture at “Ufda” Day where she helped make lefsa and rommegrot for many years.
Most of all, Delores was about family – attending her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids activities were a priority and she loved when everyone would gather at her home.
Ralph passed away in 1988. Delores continued to farm until July of 2023 when she moved to Eventide Assisted Living in Fargo and later to Mapleview in February of 2025.
Delores is survived by four children, son – Steven of West Fargo (his children, Tasha (Jon) Dullea and Bridgit (Chris) Lehfeldt); son - Jeff (Jody) of Havana, ND (their children, Jacob (Yahaira) Breker, Ashten (Daniel) DeWald, Gregory (Katelyn) Breker); daughter – Dawn (Joe) Moore of Fargo (their children, Lisa (Andy) Steinberger and Kevin (Heather) Moore); son - Shane (Karla) of Havana, ND (their children, Shantelle Heintzman, Shawn (Jackie) Breker and Sheena (Craig) Shell); 31 great grandchildren; special nephew, Steph (Lin) Ricksecker of Orange, CA; siblings, Darline “Tiny” Soberg, Arnold “Cody” Evenson and Caroline Herman; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; son, Raymond and siblings, Toni McManus, Honey McQuay, Harold Evenson Jr., Eleanor Anderson, Gerald Evenson, and Diane Vaudrin.
A Celebration of life will be held at Rutland Community Hall on Saturday, October 3, 2026 from noon to 3 PM following the burial at Cayuga Cemetery at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Cayuga Cemetery or the Rutland Community Club.
