Deborah Klein

Deborah Ann Klein (Rohlfs) peacefully passed away on January 10th, 2026, with her loving husband of 54 years by her side at the age of 73. Debbie was born on May 6th, 1952 in Redfield, SD to Alvin (Al) and Doris Rohlfs, and was the oldest of four sisters.

Al and Doris moved to West Fargo, ND when Debbie was in 7th grade where she would live the majority of her life and go on to meet her high school sweetheart and lifelong soulmate, Gary. Gary and Debbie were married in September of 1971 and welcomed three children.

In 1984, Debbie and Gary moved to Missoula, MT where she discovered a love for golf. She played every weekend with Gary and their friends. In 1992, Debbie and Gary moved back to West Fargo to be closer to family. She went on to work as a scheduler at Sanford Health working side by side with her sister Janet. Her co-workers and patients got to know Debbie for her kindness and dedication to help others and developed lasting friendships while working at Sanford.

Debbie loved weekends at Cotton Lake. She enjoyed intense croquet matches, sitting in the sun on the deck, fishing, socializing with her lifelong friends and neighbors, and pontoon rides while sipping the occasional “beergarita”.

Debbie always enjoyed time with her sisters. Every get-together entailed playing card games, reminiscing, lots of laughter, and something would inevitably happen that would become a story told for years to come.

Debbie’s favorite role was Grandma to her six grandchildren. She loved to spoil her grandchildren with clothes, shoes, comfy pajamas, and bikes. Shopping and buying gifts for her grandchildren was her love language.

Debbie will be remembered for her grace, kindness and infectious laughter. Debbie is survived by her husband Gary; sisters Susan (Cilvik), Janet (Monson), and Marsha (Waletzko); children: Jennifer (Robert) Swiers, Melissa (Clint) Schneider, and Matthew (Stephanie) Klein; grandchildren: Kenley Schneider, Caleb Swiers, Tyson Schneider, Daniel Swiers, Sawyer Klein, and Jameson Klein.

Debbie’s Celebration of Life Service will take place  2 p.m.  Saturday, January 17th at West Funeral Home located at 321 Sheyenne St, West Fargo, ND 58078

Visitation will be an hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to HIA Hospice of Fargo, ND as a thank you for providing Debbie comfort and dignity as she was welcomed into Heaven to be with her parents.
