David Lee Brandt

   David Lee Brandt, 79, died peacefully at his home in West Fargo, ND surrounded by his family on September 7, 2022.

   David was born in Grand Forks, ND on January 20, 1943 to Margaret and Jack Brandt. He attended St. Michaels Catholic School through middle school and graduated from St. James High School in Grand Forks. He met and married the love of his life, Mary Ann on November 11, 1967. They had two children Denise Nerby (husband Shane) and Jared Brandt (Wife Becky). David worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 40 years, working his way up to a Locomotive Engineer.

   They lived in Grand Forks, ND until retirement and then moved to a lake home on Dead Lake in MN. They moved to AZ in 2018 where they enjoyed the warmth, sun and playing cards. They moved back to ND in 2021.

   Dave and Mary Ann loved spending time at the lake with their family (especially their grandchildren and grand dogs), fishing, traveling and bowling. David was an incredible bowler with several perfect games! David has four grandchildren, Taylor Nerby, Lynnea Casmey, Lindsay Kennedy and Darrion Brandt. They were the love of his life and he spent as much time as he could with them. He spoiled them rotten and always made them feel special.

   David was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Jack and his brother Jack. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, dog Buttons, daughter Denise Nerby (Shane), son Jared Brandt (Becky), Grandchildren Taylor Nerby, Lynnea Casmey, Lindsay Kennedy (Cullen), Darrion Brandt, sister Linda Burtsfield (Ed Micka), sister Debbie Lee (Mitch), and several other family members and grand dogs.

Visitation: Friday, September 16, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, West Fargo, ND..

Funeral Mass:  Friday, September 16, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, West Fargo.
