David Dost, 84, of West Fargo, passed away August 23, 2020.
David Donald Dost was born Oct. 15, 1935 to Elaine and Harry Savela. He was adopted by Teckla and Jake Dost. He graduated from Sebeka High School. He served in the U. S. Air Force for 4 years as a radio repairman. During his service he was stationed in the United States and France.
David and Mary Ann Waaraniemi were united in marriage in Wadena, Minn.
Following discharge from service, David worked as a printer first in Sonoma, Calif. and then at Kayes Printing in Fargo for over 40 years.
David enjoyed camping and he and his family visited Minnesota state parks every summer weekend for many years. After retirement he spent winters in Arizona for several years.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann; daughter, Virginia (Mike) Mercier; son, Brian (Nancy Karst); 2 step-daughters, Tanya Livingston and Teresa Greenwood (Kevin Miller); 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin Savela; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
Memorials are preferred to the V. A. Medical Center.
Visitation: Monday, August 31, 2020, 9:30 a.m. in West Funeral Home in West Fargo.
Service: Monday, August 31 at 10:30 a.m. in West Funeral Home.
Interment: Fargo National Cemetery, rural Harwood, N.D.
