David Vernon Baardson went to be with his Savior Jesus on Monday, March 22, 2021 Riverview Assisted Living in Fargo, ND.
David was born on the family farm October 5, 1933 near Parshall, ND to Bertinius and Anna (Johnson) Baardson. Dave started farming at an early age, due to his dad’s illness. He attended Parshall High School and Dakota Lutheran in Minot. On March 12th 1954, he married Evangeline Seibold. They moved to the Parshall, ND area where they farmed for most of their lives until retirement. While farming full-time he also had numerous jobs, using his mechanical talents he worked for Kenworth Trucks in Seattle promoted to 1-A mechanic, had an ownership in Billings MT City Bus System, did maintenance and repair of buses in Boise Id, Grand Forks and Minot ND.
For over twenty years he managed and did all repair and maintenance of the buses for the Parshall School District.
In retirement Dave and Vangie enjoyed 19 winters in Tonto Basin AZ. where they enjoyed four wheeling and camping in the desert; singing, visiting, fishing and Arizona winters.
David was very talented in restoring antique tractors and was an active member in the Makoti Threshing show.
Dave is survived by sisters, LaVonne Kirkeide of Mesa, AZ and Miriam Anderson of Eugene, OR; a son, Vernon Baardson (Kayanne “Casey “) of West Fargo ND; daughter, Brenda Aamot (David) of Surprise AZ; Grandchildren: Andrea Haser (Erik) Surprise AZ, Than Baardson (Emma) of Moorhead MN, Tori Oesterreich (David) of Phoenix AZ; 6 Great Grandchildren: Quinn, Zach, Arden, Findley, Ronan, and Mira; dear nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vangie; parents and grandparents and sister, Beulah.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 3 PM at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo, ND. The burial will be at a later date in Parshall, ND.
