David Drees, 60, passed away on Monday October 16, 2023, at his home in West Fargo, ND.
Dave was born in September 1963 in Grand Forks to Roberta and Walter Drees. He grew up in rural Reynolds, ND and graduated from Larimore High School in 1981. He continued his education in East Grand Forks at NCTC but didn’t graduate. While serving in the National Guard, Dave married Cindy Amundson and from this marriage they had Amanda, Casey and Cody. He later married Angela Enger. From this marriage of 20 years, they had two children, Alex and Jayden Drees.
Dave had an amazing talent to produce top of the line elite custom cabinets and Corian countertops. His talent and skill have won him several design awards featured in: Surface/Fabrication Magazine.
Dave enjoyed spending time at home with his kids, listening to music, going to Bingo, going to the farm to shoot guns and light off fireworks on the 4th of July.
Of all the things he could do well, he could love perfectly. He spent a lifetime caring for others and putting himself last. His smile was infectious, and hugs could solve any of his children’s struggles. He loved without condition and taught his children and grandchildren to do the same. While he was the best father, being a papa was one of his true callings. He was patient and a good listener and teacher when he needed to be. Everyone looked up to him. He lived by example.
Dave is survived by his wife: Angie Drees and his children Amanda, Casey, Cody, Alex and Jayden; his two grandchildren Veda and Rowan; brothers Keith (LeeIla) Drees and Jared Hagert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Drees and Curtis and Roberta Hagert, his sister Joleen (Hagert) Hauge. He will be greatly missed.
