Daniel A. Duncan, 68, Fargo, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Sanford on Broadway in Fargo.
Dan was born May 7, 1953, in New Haven, CT, son of James & Eleanor (Laine) Duncan. At the age of 5, his family moved to Fargo where he was raised and educated. Following graduation from Fargo South High, Dan owned and operated restaurants. In Gary, MN he ran Gary Café, DJ’s Café in Thompson, ND and the White House Café in Fargo. Dan worked as a cook at the Fargo Highway Host from 1969 to 1973. Dan and Jacalyn Bruggeman were married January 26, 1973. From 1975 to 1980, he worked at the Radford Company as a window & door carpenter and truck driver. Dan then was employed as a truck driver at Cole Paper from 1984 to 2016, when he retired because of cancer.
Dan’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding and woodworking. He was a member of the Goldwing Bike Club. He dearly loved his family, grandchildren, spending time at the lakes and going places.
Surviving are his wife: Jacalyn; children: Joe (Jodi) Duncan, Rod Duncan and Chris (Kristina) Duncan; grandchildren: Alex, Austin, & Ellie Duncan; siblings: Jay (Mer) Duncan, Dean (Brenda) Duncan & Paul (Carol) Duncan; brothers-in-law: Keith, Greg & Jeff (Cheryl), Terry (Karen) and Steve Bruggeman; sister-in-law: Kathi (Mark Lundquist) Bruggeman; step-family: Richard (Joy) Williams, James (Patti) Williams, Herbert (Lisa) Williams and Kay (Paul) Hannaher.
Preceding his in death are his parents: James & Eleanor Duncan, step-mother: Hisako Duncan; mother & father-in-law: Dale & Muriel Bruggeman; grandparents: Arthur & Lillian Laine and Hiram & Edna Duncan.
Memorial Service: 2 pm Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the West Funeral Home in West Fargo.
Visitation: An hour before the service
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo.
A tribute motorcycle ride will be leaving Saturday at noon from Prometheus Motorcycle Clubhouse, 1817 11th St. N., Moorhead, arriving at West Funeral Home prior to the visitation and memorial service. All riders are welcome.
