Dana Rasmussen

Dana Rasmussen, 54, Dayton, MN, formerly Hunter, ND, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 28, 2026 at his home while working on his son’s car.

Dana George Rasmussen was born Sept. 8, 1971 to Harold and Laura (Fletschock) Rasmussen. He grew up on the family farm near Hunter, ND and graduated from Dakota High School in 1990. He continued his schooling at NDSU in Fargo where he received his communications degree. His son, Alec was born in 1994 to Dana and his mother Lisa Schroeder. He continued to live in the Fargo area and worked for ABM before starting with Marco Technologies in 2018. He met his soul mate, Jodi Hauck in 2018 and transferred with Marco to the Minneapolis area. They made their home at Dayton, MN.

Dana was, from a young age, the life of any gathering. He provided the humor and the laughter and was a friend to everyone that knew him. He enjoyed singing, disc golf, kayaking, riding motorcycle and being at the farm. He was always someone that you wanted to have in your corner. Dana accepted people the way they are, and found the good in everyone he came in contact with.

Dana leaves his loving family, a son, Alec of Dayton, MN; companion, Jodi Hauck of Dayton, MN; parents, Harold and Laura Rasmussen of Hunter; siblings, Sheila (Cody) Musland, of Edgeley, ND, Pamela (Greg) Vetter of Bismarck, Kevin (Lisa) Rasmussen of Argusville, ND; nieces and nephews, Taylor Musland, Jenna (Zachary) Pipek, Austin (Kallie) Musland, Shelby (Cody) Richter, Joshua (Amanda) Vetter, Amanda Vetter, Brianna (Devin) Huizenga, Jacob Vetter, Kelli Vetter, Zach Rasmussen and Abby Rasmussen; Jodi’s children, Oliver, Logan and Braeden Perkins; Alec’s siblings, MacKenzie Steele, Gabriel Watkins and Myah Watkins and several great nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026 from 5 to 7 PM with a sharing time at 7 PM at West Funeral Home, Casselton, ND.

Funeral: Thursday at 10:30 AM at West Funeral Home Chapel, Casselton with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Hunter Cemetery.
