Daniel Gordon Krueger, age 80, of Fargo, ND, a lifelong resident of Chaffee, ND, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026 surrounded by his loving wife and boys. A man of quiet strength, boundless generosity, and deep integrity, Dan touched the lives of everyone he met and left the world far better than he found it.
Born on May 3, 1946 in Fargo, ND to Gordon and Esther Krueger, Dan grew up with a natural curiosity and a deep appreciation for hard work. He graduated from Chaffee High School in 1964 and then attended Dakota Business College. He embarked on a career in farming and then, after retiring, he spent time employed with Camas Sand and Gravel, Maple River Grain, and Schatzke Farms. In all the locations he was known for his steady leadership, sharp mind, and unwavering dedication. These qualities were also visible while he served on the Zion Cemetery Board, the Chaffee Lions Club, and as a lifelong member of St Peter Lutheran Church.
Dan found his greatest joy in his family. On September 19, 1964 he married the love of his life Jeanie Loebrick. Together they built a home filled with laughter, patience, and unconditional love and were blessed with three incredible boys: Lee (Sheila), Lenny (Mary), and Dale (Jodi). They also spent countless time in the presence of many special nieces and nephews. He was a devoted PaPa to Grandchildren: Kendra, Blake, Kaleen, and Brady and adored his Great Grandchildren, Hadley, Calvin, Lauren, Betty, and Nora. Never missing a chance to tell a story, share a piece of wisdom, offer a helping hand, or celebrate a milestone, his love for his family will be treasured forever.
Dan had a unique gift for making people feel seen and valued. Whether he was fishing, playing cards, camping, or enjoying a cup of coffee with friends his hands were rarely still and his heart was always open. He approached life with a gentle humor and a confidence that provided an anchor for everyone who knew him.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Esther Krueger; in-laws, Elgart and Louise Loebrick, sister-in law, Marion Krueger; brother-in-law Tony Pitkin; brother-in-law Erwin Loebrick; sister-in-law Anna Loebrick; nephew, Scott Krueger; and daughter-in-law Mary Krueger. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jeanie Krueger; his loving children, Lee (Sheila), Lenny, Dale (Jodi); his cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, Kendra; Blake (Stephanie; Hadley, Nora); Kaleen (Erick; Betty) Quintero; Brady (Annika; Calvin, Lauren); brother, William Krueger; and sister, Beverly Pitkin. There is also a wide circle of extended family and dear friends who will miss him beyond measure.
