Dale Erickson, age 74, of Hunter, ND was welcomed to his heavenly home on Saturday, January 21st, 2023, while surrounded by loved ones after an eight-year battle with cancer. Dale was born on February 25th, 1948, to Alice & Herb Erickson of New England, ND. He graduated from New England High School in 1966, and shortly after married his best friend and love of his life, Bonnie Stockert in June of 1966. Dale then attended NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND and graduated with a degree in Diesel Mechanics. They made their first real home in Tower City, ND in 1973 where they raised their 4 children Terry, Les, Jeff, & Carmen. They later moved to Jamestown, ND in 1992, and then made their final home in Hunter, ND in 2014.
Dale was a jack of all trades, master of many. He always had a project he was working on. His passion was making 3-wheeled motorcycles, “trikes” as he called them. He completed 8 and was working on 2 more. The last project he finished and took pride in was his freestanding treehouse! He worked at many different jobs over the years. One of the most rewarding was being a volunteer firefighter. He was very active in church & in every community they lived in. He made many memories with their large family including countless backyard badminton, soccer & baseball games. Dale cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and Bonnie attended as many sporting events of the family as they could. He was often one of the loudest fans. Dale was a man of integrity, had a strong faith, valued family, had a wonderful sense of humor, and lived to serve others.
Dale is survived by his wife - Bonnie, sons - Terry (Krista) Erickson of Fargo, ND, Les (Michelle) Erickson of West Fargo, ND, and Jeff Erickson (Julie Skaufel) of Valley City, ND, daughter - Carmen (Darin) Sorenson of Grand Forks, ND, sister - Dorothy Nielsen of New England, ND, brother - Roger (Debbie) Erickson of Gilbert, AZ, brother-in-law - Duane Barry of Bismarck, ND, 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister - Faye Barry, brother-in-law - Collins Richey, daughter-in-law - Julie Erickson, grandchild - Timothy Erickson, and great-grandchild - Nevaeh Erickson.
