Cheryl Trangsrud, 77, Fargo, ND passed away on Friday, Nov. 18, 2022 at her home.
Cheryl Ann Goltz was born Oct. 19, 1945 in Fargo, ND to Allen and Clarice (Knutson) Goltz. She grew up at Leonard, ND and graduated from high school there in 1963. As a young girl, she started playing piano at churches in the area. Cheryl graduated from Humboldt Institute in Minneapolis, MN. She married Robert Kellerman in 1966. They raised two children, Ryan and Tanya and as a young family, they lived across the United States and always made a point to return to ND to visit and see family. She later married Roland Trangsrud in 1997. They spent many summers at Ottertail Lake and enjoyed dancing on the weekends. Cheryl’s work career was with the United States Department of Agriculture for 29 years. She worked for the Federal Crop Insurance, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training, General Services Administration and retired from Farm Service Agency in 2007.
She was a member of the West Fargo VFW Ladies Auxiliary and volunteer with the Salvation Army during floods and the Cooper House of the homeless. She loved church, politics and music – playing her piano which she had since childhood.
Cheryl is survived by a son Ryan (Melissa) Kellerman of West Fargo; a daughter, Tanya (Noel) Anderson of Moorhead, MN; grandchildren, Madison and Brady Kellerman, Rory and Kelso Anderson; one great grandchild, Eliza; sisters, Charlene (Duane) Peterson and Sheila (Dave) Muhle; Roland’s children, Deborah (Brad) McJunkin, Bryon Trangsrud, Pamela (Kris) and Brent Trangsrud; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roland; and brother and sister-in-law, Lynn and Tammy Goltz.
Visitation: Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.
Funeral: Monday, Nov. 28 at 10:30 AM at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo with visitation one hour prior.
Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
