Charles Weible Obituary

Charles “Charlie” Lloyd Weible
December 9, 1945 – May 6, 2026

Charles “Charlie” Lloyd Weible passed away on May 6, 2026. He was born on December 9, 1945, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Edward and Emma (Freuer) Weible. Charlie was raised in Turtle Lake alongside his six siblings, where he developed a strong work ethic and deep sense of family that would define his life.

In 1965, Charlie began working on the farm for David Riebe. During that time, he met the love of his life, Joyce (Milligan) Weible. Charlie and Joyce were married on October 1, 1967. Together they built a loving family and welcomed their first son, Curtis Weible, on June 30, 1969, followed by their second son, Kelly Weible, on September 13, 1971.

Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Army after being drafted into the Vietnam War. He served from April 7, 1966, to April 5, 1968, as an aircraft maintenance and repairman and was stationed at Fort Eustis, Virginia, with the 1st Army.

Following his military service, Charlie began his career at Fairmont Foods and later worked at Nash Finch, where he remained until retirement. Never one to sit still, he continued working part-time after retirement at McNeilus Steel and Factory Motor Parts.

Charlie found his greatest joy in spending time outdoors with his children and grandchildren. He loved hunting and fishing and made lasting memories taking kids and neighborhood children skiing at the lake. He was a devoted supporter of his grandchildren, attending countless events including swimmingmeets, softball and volleyball games, choir concerts, academic activities, and graduations. He also cherished calling his grandchildren just to heckle them, something they will always remember fondly.

A dedicated and proud veteran, Charlie was a life member of the West Fargo VFW Post 7564 where he served as Post Commander from 2003 to 2004, during the same time his wife was President of the VFW Auxiliary. He served as Commander of the VFW Cooties from 2005 to 2006. During his time as commander, he came up with the idea of selling raffle tickets and was often told he could talk anyone into buying one. His passion for supporting fellow service members also led him tofound (R.O.S.S.) Remembering Our Serving Soldiers. Raising approximately $2,000 in its first year to around $22,000 by its 13th year. The program helped families of service members and involved participation from multiple National Guard units. Charlie also generously volunteered his time with the color guard.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Joyce (Milligan) Weible; his sons, Curtis (Stacie) Weible and Kelly (Traci) Weible; his grandchildren, Alex (Allie), Macy, Grace, Abby, and Cait Weible; his great-grandchildren, Elliott Mikesh and Wyatt Weible; his brother, Benny (Peggy) Weible of Minot and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma (Freuer) andEdward Weible; his siblings, Herbert (Rose) Weible; Thelma (Cecil) Garner; Leonard Weible; Ingvold Weible; Mabel (Edwin) Meyer and his grandson, Jacob Weible.

Charlie will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his service to his country, generosity to charitable organizations, and his commitment to supporting others. His legacy of continuous giving, humor, and pride in those he loved will live on in all who knew him.
