Carol "Cookie" Ludwig

Carol Ann ‘Cookie’ Ludwig was born in Fargo, ND to LeRoy and Julia Herrick on Feb. 14th, 1949. She died Dec. 25th, 2023.

Cookie grew up in Fargo, graduated from Fargo Central high school in 1968. She married her high school sweetheart, Damian Ludwig, on Sept. 7th, 1968.

Cookie was the matriarch of the Ludwig household. Raising three daughters while moving 13 times to five different states. Cookie had an infectious smile, a bubbly attitude and a huge love of her God. When she was in the room everyone knew it because she had to talk to everyone. Cookie enjoyed fresh flowers, shopping (especially for shoes) and spending time with ‘her littles.’ She was the spice in Damians life, always looking forward for the next experience or new adventure. Cookie loved to travel in their RV motor home, helping others recover from disasters being part of MAPS and the Red Cross.

Cookie is survived by her Mother: Julia Sorlien. Sisters: Diana Herrick and Mary Havelange. Brother: Steven Herrick. Daughters: Julie (Craig) Dallmann. Jennifer (Scott) Fell. Jaci (Jamie) Hart. Grandchildren: Cayla (Marc) Mosser. Samantha Fell. Tanner (Jazzmyn) Hart. Tristan (Max) Jensen. Great-Grandchildren ‘her littles’: Easton and Sloan Mosser. Rhett Dallmann. Hudson and Hayes Hart. Paxton, Paislee and Pyke Jensen.

Cookie was preceded in death by her Husband: Damian Ludwig. Father: LeRoy Herrick. Grandsons: Kyle Dallmann and Caleb Fell.

Visitation: Friday, January 5, 2024, from 10-noon, at West Funeral Home in West Fargo, ND.

Burial: Friday, January 5, 2024, 1:00 PM at Fargo National Cemetery.
