Carol Stokes

   Carol Ann Stokes, 80, Fargo, ND passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Bethany on 42nd Retirement Living, Fargo, ND.

   Carol Ann Stokes was born on May 24, 1945 to William and Alvina (Frankfurth) Haring in Wahpeton, ND. She was the middle child of nine children. She was raised and attended school in Wahpeton, graduating in 1963. She then attended the ND State College of Science in Wahpeton and Shorline Community College in Seattle, WA.

   She met and fell in love with Timothy Stokes in Seattle, and they married on September 3, 1967. Carol held several jobs throughout her life. She began at Montgomery Ward in Wahpeton until she moved to Seattle. She then did assembly work at Boeing Airlines in Seattle, worked retail at a fabric store and did bookkeeping at a nursing home and University Hospital in Seattle until 1989. At that time, Tim became ill, and Carol left work to care for him. Tim passed away September 27, 1990. In 1993, she became disabled and returned to North Dakota. She lived in West Fargo until 2020, when she moved into Bethany Nursing Home.

   Carol’s hobbies included wood working, making doll house furniture, oil and watercolor painting, all needle work and jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed cooking, playing piano, bible study and singing in the church choir. She had a special love for all dogs, especially Punky, Boomer, Mandy, Jessy and Ozzie, who were all part of her life.

   Surviving Carol’s memory are her brothers, Lowell (Linda) Haring, Fargo, ND; Bob (Barb) Haring, Abilene, TX; sisters-in-law Erna Haring, Colorado Springs, CO, Wilma Haring, Ottertail, MN and LaVonne Haring, West Fargo, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.

   Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Tim; parents, William and Alvina; brothers, Wayne, Gene, Billy and Keith; and sisters, Sharon and Jane.

   Interment for Carol will be held at Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline, WA, beside her husband.

   There will be no services held as per Carol's wishes.
