Carol Schatzke Obituary

Carol Schatzke of Fargo, ND passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN at the age of 73 following a short illness.

Carol Diane Schatzke was born Dec. 13, 1951 in Fargo, ND to Harold and Billie (Miller) Schatzke. She grew up on the family farm near Chaffee, ND, attended the Goshen Country School and graduated from Chaffee High School. She made her home in Fargo where she worked many years at Blue Cross Blue Shield and after retiring from there, she began working at US Bank retiring a second time in 2017.

Carol lived a simple life and cherished her time with her parents, living with her mom after her dad passed away. Most Sundays were set aside for family gatherings and a meal. Carol also enjoyed getting together with her cousins as well as friends from the condo. She also played organ at the Goshen Moravian Church. She enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino along with shopping.

Her family includes a brother, Keith (the late Joan) Schatzke of Wheatland; nephew, the late Jason (Tanya) Schatzke of Wheatland and their children, Leah Schatzke, Grant Schatzke and Jace Schatzke;  niece, Shelly (Brad) Sinner of Casselton and their children, Brady Sinner, Carly Sinner and Catie Sinner;  sister, Kathie (Dale) Reese and their children, Bryan (Andrea) Reese, Lucas Reese, Daniel Reese and Nicole (Cole Horsman) Reese;  brother, David Fiedler (Veronica Fiedler) and their children, Lanny (Misty) Fiedler (their children Emma, Cole, Taylor, Avery, Regan, OIivia, Lainey, Samantha and Robert Samuelson) and Mike (Jolie) Fiedler (their children Lily and Daxton).

Funeral:  Monday, April 7, 2025 at 4:00pm at Goshen Moravian Church, rural Durbin with visitation one hour prior

Burial: Goshen Moravian Cemetery.
