Carol (Adrian) Moen

Carol Moen, 85, formerly of West Fargo, ND died on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Fairview Lakes Hospital in Wyoming, MN.

Carol Ruth Adrian was born August 1,1939 at Binford, ND to Arnold and Agnes (Underland) Adrian. She was raised on a farm near Binford and attended country school near the farm. She graduated in 1957 from Binford High School. Carol married Milton Moen on December 15, 1957 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Binford, ND. They initially made their home in Fargo and moved to West Fargo in 1964, which is where they raised their family. In 2018, Carol and Milt moved to Chisago City, MN to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

In the early years of their marriage, Carol was an office administrator at the FM Hotel in Moorhead, as well as Piper Jaffray in Fargo. In 1967, she became a full-time homemaker, staying home to raise their growing family. Carol enjoyed gardening, crafts and cooking. She and Milt took pride in caring for their yard and home on Sheyenne Street in West Fargo. Carol used the many beautiful flowers in their garden to create her famous potpourri, which she sold through their arts and crafts business. They worked together and enjoyed their arts and crafts business for over 40 years.

Carol and Milt met at Red Willow, near Binford, ND. They were instantly taken with each other. Carol and Milt shared a love for the ages. They instilled this love in their children and grandchildren. Nothing meant more to them than family.

Carol is survived by three children, Becky (Matthew) Sumers, Julie Moen-Opdahl (Todd Opdahl) and Tim (Julie) Moen; six grandchildren, Sarah (Greg) Brandt, Naomi (Ben) Passe, Storm Opdahl, Hattie Opdahl, Max Moen and Josie Moen; four great-grandchildren, Evan Brandt, Elodie Brandt, Cameron Passe and Sidney Passe; her brother Roger (Shirley) Adrian, brother Keith (Lana) Adrian, sister Doris (Dean) Giedt, sister-in-law Shirley (Orv) Slusher and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Milton; her parents, Arnold and Agnes Adrian; Milton’s parents, Kenneth and Agnes Moen; two brothers, Lee Adrian and Gary Adrian; and her nephew and godson, Jon Slusher.

Funeral: Sunday, January 26 at 2 PM at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Binford (ND) Cemetery.
