Byron Leroy Aasheim, 77, Fargo, ND, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025.
Byron was born March 16, 1948, in Fargo, ND at St. Luke’s Hospital, the son of Earl and Anna (Heuther) Aasheim. He was raised and attended his schooling years in Enderlin, ND, graduating in 1966. Byron briefly attended North Dakota State School of Science in Whapeton, ND where he pursued his general studies. Byron then transferred to North Dakota State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, graduating in May of 1970. Upon graduation from NDSU, Byron enlisted in the Army National Guard, where he was a demolitions specialist. While enlisted, Byron obtained a rifle expert badge as well as a sharpshooter badge with a rifle bar. He served until his term ended in 1976.
Byron welcomed his first daughter, Sarah Aasheim (Fox), in 1987, followed by his second daughter, Naomi Aasheim (Day), in 1989. He was proud of all their accomplishments, including both attending and graduating from college.
Byron worked at Steiger (now Case/New Holland) for over 30 years. He retired from his position in 2010.
