Brian Douglas Spieker, age 53, of Dilworth, MN, passed away in Fargo, ND, on Thursday, January 6, 2022.
Brian was born in Great Lakes, IL, at the Great Lakes Naval Base hospital on December 6, 1968, the son of Kathryn and Douglas Spieker. He graduated from Fargo South High, and Audio Engineering in Phoenix, AZ.
Brian worked as a DJ and Audio Engineer for various radio stations and enjoyed participating in car and BMX riding before becoming disabled. He was a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and also of Cherokee heritage and enjoyed communicating with Chief Gary Batton on matters important to Brian regarding Choctaw native issues. Brian was “Choctaw Proud”.
He is survived by his father Douglas (Cher) of Havana, ND, mother Kathryn Jacobs (Roy) Chavez of Central City, AR; brothers Shane (Kristina) Spieker and Steve (Lori) Listopad; grandmother Angela Jacobs; uncles Derald Spieker, Michael Jacobs & Thomas Jacobs; aunts Peggy (DeWayne) Dunham, Susan (Rick) Skodje, Marilyn (Jeff) Slavin, Barbara Jacobs (Kevin) Poppen, Debra Kinslow, Denise (Richard) Eskildsen, Diane (Michael) Rix; cousins Patrick Skodje, Dan Jacobs-Walden Kootz, Danielle Ely, Jake Jacobs, Ryan Poppen, Candace Poppen, Janna (Josh) Gunkel, Jodie Spieker, Chad (Tina) Spieker, Donovan Kinslow, Jamie Kinslow, Ryan Kinslow, Michael Spieker, Justin Eskildsen, Taylor (Brody) Voelker and Garrett Rix.
Brian was preceded in death by his brother Scott Eric Spieker, grandparents Ambrose and Arlos Spieker, Adeline and Clarence Breker, Willard Jacobs, aunt Georgiann Spieker, uncles Donald Spieker and Kim Kinslow; cousins Matthew Spieker and Jason Eskildsen.
A Memorial Service will be held 6:30 pm Friday, February 4, 2022, in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND, with visitation held one hour prior to his service.
Interment: 2 pm Friday, May 6, 2022 in Holy Cross Cemetery – North, Fargo, ND
