Bernie Cruz

Bernadette “Bernie” Cruz, 49, Fargo, ND passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Essentia Health, Fargo.

Bernadette was born on September 20, 1967 in Moorhead, MN to Pascal & Anita (Hanson) Cruz.  The youngest of four children, Bernie lived in Fargo and graduated from North High in 1986.  She remained in the Fargo area making a career at the Post Office for 28 years.  While with the Post Office, she worked in many areas, with the most recent position being a register room clerk. 

Bernie was a very loving and caring person who helped all those around her in need.  She loved listening to music and dancing, shopping on Amazon, watching movies and football.  She enjoyed quilling, coloring for relaxation, collecting various items, especially miniatures and making crafts with her sister, Petra.  Bernie will be truly missed by those that loved her.

Bernie is survived by her mother, Anita Cruz of Fargo;  brother:  David (Ella) Cruz of Casselton;  sisters:  Elaine (Todd) Bogardus of West Fargo,  Petra (Cassandra Matejcek) Cruz of Fargo;  niece: Amanda (John) Miller of Fargo, who she had a very close bond; Godson: Alex (Sarah Kasin) Kraft of Fargo and his brother  Andrew Kraft of Fargo; who she treated like they were her own; nieces and nephew:  Getty (Jess) Cruz of Fargo, Andria (Tony) Stark  of Fargo,  KayCee Cruz of Hendrum, MN,  Sara and Sam Bogardus of West Fargo; great-nieces and nephews:  Jordan Hanson and Raelee Miller of Fargo,  Serenity Danielson and Louis Cruz of Fargo,  Atari & Peter Stark of Fargo and a very special friend:  Terre Holm of Reiles Acres.

Bernie is preceded in death by her father:  Pascal "Pat" Cruz;  grandparents:  Charlie and Elenor Hanson,  Andrea and Canuto Cruz;  best friend since junior high:  Brenda Kraft and other distant family members.

Memorial service will be Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 2 PM at the West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND with visitation one hour prior to the service.
