Arnold Meidinger

    Arnold Meidinger, age 85, of West Fargo, ND died July 8, 2026 in his home.

   He was born March 28, 1941 in Strasburg, ND, the son of August C. and Hilda (Just) Meidinger. He was a 1960 graduate of Zeeland high school. He left the family farm and went to work at the Homestake gold mine in Lead, SD. He spent 13 years working there and had many fond memories of this time.

   He took other various jobs, but in 1978 he started working in Coeur D’Alene, ID, for the Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration. Then, in 1983, he took a new position working as a revenue officer for the IRS in Las Vegas, NV. In 1985, he wanted to get closer to family and transferred to Minot, ND in the same position until his retirement in 2004.

   Arnold is survived by his wife of 15 years, Sharon Meidinger; son Stacey (Dawn) Meidinger; sister Marlys Sayler; brother Lloyd (Carol) Meidinger; sister Carmen (Curt) Wiedmeier, sons Wade (Courtney), Clinton Mitchell; daughter Jackie (Casey); six grandchildren Grace, Watson, Scarlett, Arlo, Violet and Marigold.

   He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother Eugene, sister Alice, and infant sisters Laura and Virginia.

   Memorial Service: Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
