Arlue Ostrem

Arlue Ostrem, 91, of West Fargo, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in her home.

   Arlue Erickson was born on April 10, 1934, in Perham, MN, to Harry & Ruth (Bjornson) Erickson. She graduated from Frazee, MN High School, after which she married Ernest “Ernie” Ostrem on March 23, 1957, at First Lutheran Church of Fargo, ND. Throughout her life, she worked at Fargo Café, General Nutrition Corporation, Larson’s SuperValu, and West Fargo Schools.

   Arlue was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fargo and was a visiting volunteer and transporter for nursing homes. She liked to watch local school sports, NDSU Bison, the RedHawks, and the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. After Ernie died in August 1992, she enjoyed traveling on bus tours. She loved to play pinochle with family and friends and was very skilled at it! Arlue’s favorite times were spent with family and friends and the special visits from her granddaughters each summer.

   She is survived by children, Neal Ostrem, San Jose, CA, Dennis (Carman) Ostrem, Garner, IA, and Renee (Clint) Bergstrom, Bismarck, ND; granddaughters Cassandra Carter, Garner, IA and Caitlynn (Khristian) Cronkwright, Kanawha, IA; and great-grandchildren Lane Coe Carter, Karson Gregory Cronkwright, and Kendyll Lee-Ann Cronkwright.

   She was preceded in death by her husband Ernie; parents Harry and Ruth Erickson; and siblings Harvey (Eneta) Erickson, Merle (Margaret) Erickson, Marshall (Marie) Erickson and Mercille (Martin) Fellbaum.

   Visitation: Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo, ND.

   Funeral: Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo, ND.

   Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, North Dakota.
