Ardyce Albright

Ardyce Ann (Nelson) Albright, age 82, passed away on August 18, 2026, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.

Born on May 25, 1944, in Fargo, North Dakota, Ardyce was the daughter of Helmer and Gladyce (Rothhouse) Nelson. She graduated from Milnor Public School and continued her education at Moorhead State University, where she earned her BS in Accounting. She dedicated most of her professional life to Melroe Bobcat and Gwinner Oil Co., both in Gwinner, ND.

Ardyce married Larry Albright on August 22, 1965, and together they built a loving home in Gwinner, ND, where they raised their two children, Kelly and Erik. After retirement, Ardyce and Larry moved to their cherished lake home on Pickeral Lake, MN. The lake became a place of joy and peace for Ardyce, especially as she watched her children and grandson, Tate and their families and friends, enjoy the water and the outdoors. She also treasured the companionship of her dear friend and neighbor, Luann.

Ardyce devoted her life to the happiness of her children and took great pride in spoiling her grandson. In earlier years she enjoyed reading and crocheting; more recently she found comfort in classic westerns and television shows featuring dogs. Witty, kind-hearted, and wise, Ardyce was the person her family turned to for thoughtful guidance and sound decision-making.

She is remembered and deeply missed by her children, Kelly Nagel (Thomas) and Erik Albright (Sheri Eckert); her grandson, Tate Carlson (Nicholas Ohren); and step-grandchildren Steven Nagel (Brittany) and Bryan Nagel (Amy). She is also lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law, Clarmont Ulven; nieces Kari Ulven, Karla Ulven (Craig Beedy), and Kris Beck (Shawn); great-nieces Izabelle and Alannah; and many extended family members on the Albright side.

Ardyce was preceded in death by her parents, Helmer and Gladyce Nelson; her husband, Larry; her sister, Patricia Ulven; her in-laws, Walter and Lavonne Albright and her favorite grand-dog, Shiba.

A  prayer service and celebration of Ardyce’s life will be held for her family and close friends at the family’s lake home: 32359 Birchwood Shore Dr., Underwood, MN, on Saturday, August 29 at 2:00 p.m.
