Ann Zahradka

Gertrude Ann Zahradka, 92, West Fargo, ND passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024 at her home under the care of her loving children.

Gertrude was born on March 25, 1932 in Edmore, ND to Edmund and Rose (Sander) Scheett.  She attended school at Highland Center in Ramsey County, ND.  On February 5, 1959 she married Leonard P. Zahradka in Tolna, ND.  They lived in Grand Forks from 1959 to 1974 when they relocated to West Fargo.  Gertrude worked in food service with the West Fargo Public School for several years before retiring in 1992.

Ann enjoyed crocheting, quilting, baking and spending time with her family and volunteering with Meals on Wheels and attending Essentia Health Cardiac Rehab.

Ann is survived by her children,

Daughter, Betty Scheett (Michael) Ackerman and their family Bridget (Fred) Santos-Kathryn (Zach) and Alex (Kendra)-Brooks & Blakely, Phillip and David

Son, Leonard (Shelly) Zahradka and their family Codie (Lacey)-Millie, Ryker & Charlie, Katie (Izaha Williamson), Sarah (Keith) Allen-Jameson, Jordan, Hayden, Peyton & Rowan, Lauren (Nate) Thompson-Beau and Blake Arndt;

Son, Lee (Susan) Zahradka and their family Danielle (Zach) Cooley-Logan & Isla and Lukas (Megan) Zahradka-Ezekiel & Lincoln;

Daughter, Luci Zahradka Terry and her family Ashlea Huseby-Bentley & Cenzlie and Jordan Huseby

Son, Larry (Patricia) Zahradka and their family Abagael (Kyle) Brault and Brady Gerdes

Siblings, Christina Schmidt and Tony (Joan) Scheett;

Sisters-in-law, Jamie Scheett, Corky Scheett and Rita Zahradka;

and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard and by her siblings, Barbara, Simon, Francis, Conrad, Peter, Gabe and Edmund.

Visitation: Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025 from 5 to 7 PM with a Rosary at 5:30 and Prayer Service at 7 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, West Fargo.

Funeral Mass: Friday, Jan. 3 at 10:30 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Riverside Cemetery.
