Ann (Keckler) Chase

Ann Chase, 83, West Fargo, ND passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026 at Vibra Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Anna Eleanor Keckler was born January 15, 1943 in Eagle Butte, South Dakota to William and Rose (Blattner) Keckler. She attended a one room country school and graduated from high school in Eagle Butte, SD.

After graduating, Ann moved to Rapid City, SD, where she met and fell in love with Louis “Louie” Chase. They were married on January 22, 1961 in Eagle Butte, SD. The family lived in ND, SD, WA, WY, MT and MO following Louie who was an iron worker. Eventually, they settled in West Fargo in 1966 where they raised three children.

Ann worked various jobs in the area before starting in 1976 at West Fargo Public Schools as a bus driver. This led to a 30 plus year career. It was a job she thoroughly enjoyed (especially while transporting special needs children) before finally retiring in 2006.

In retirement, Ann found enjoyment in reading, but especially in watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Anthony (Ellen), Moorhead, MN; daughter, Rose (Brian) Bonnet, West Fargo; seven grandchildren, Shantel (Dustin) Froelich, Nicholas Bonnet, Jordan (Alyssa) Bonnet, Dustin Bonnet, Brandi Miller, Melissa (Brandon) Anderson and Brooke (Jesse) Knight; twelve great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie; a son, John; her parents, William and Rose; and sister, Cleo Morse.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 2 pm at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior. Final Resting Place will be at Faith Lutheran Columbarium.
