Alvin H. Pierce, 95, Fargo, ND, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo.
Alvin Henry Pierce was born on August 27, 1926 at Carrington, ND to Henry and Ruth (Ruetter) Pierce. He was raised and attended school in Juanita, ND. Alvin entered the US Army was sent over to the Phillipines the day the war ended. On November 8, 1950, Alvin married Mary Loffelmacher. They moved to West Fargo and then to Fargo. Alvin worked for Home Gas later Suburban Propane for 43 years until retiring around 1990. He also worked at Joe’s Bar and Super Valu, where he helped unload trucks. Alvin loved to hunt, fish at lake Ashtabula, and mow his lawn.
Alvin is survived by his two daughters: Cheryl Pierce, and Carol (Ron) Cich, both of West Fargo, ND, son Bill (Betty Lisburg) Pierce, of Fargo, sister-in-law Jane Pierce, brother Laurence Pierce, of Fargo, six grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Alvin was preceded in death by his wife Mary Loffelmacher, daughter Susan, son Richard, brothers Clarence and Robert Pierce, sisters Rose (Leo) Schwintek, Henrietta (Sonny) Schmidt, Darlene Schulz, Mary Ellen Lutman, and Gayle Short, special brother-in-law Leo Schwintek.
