“With deep sorrow and grateful hearts for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Albert Abe Simbe, who departed this life at the age of 78 in Morehead, MN, surrounded by the love of his family.
Mr. Simbe was a God-fearing man whose faith guided every step of his life. He was born and raised in South Sudan, where he learned the values of perseverance, humility, and devotion to God and family. Due to threats to his life and his family in Uganda, in 1998, Mr. Simbe, his wife Jean Gire, who in 2011 preceded him in death and their children immigrated to the United States to seek a better future. for their loved ones. Through hard work, sacrifice, and unwavering faith, he built a life rooted in love, integrity, and service.
A devoted husband, Mr. Simbe after the death of his first wife shared a loving marriage with his wife, Joyce, whom he cherished deeply. He was a proud and devoted father to his children and a beloved grandfather to his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and purpose. He led his family by example, teaching them the importance of faith, respect, and unity.
Mr. Simbe was a respected community leader and faithfully served as the President of the Sudanese Christian Fellowship, Chairman of the South Sudanese Equatorial Committee, where he worked tirelessly to support, unite, and advocate for his community. His leadership was marked by wisdom, humility, and a deep commitment to the well-being of others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; aunts; his brothers; his first wife, Jean; and his two beloved daughters. Though their absence was a great sorrow, he carried their memories in his heart and remained steadfast in faith.
Mr. Simbe will be remembered for his gentle spirit, wisdom, kindness, and steadfast trust in God. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the family he nurtured, and the community he served.
He is survived by his wife Joyce, his children, his grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Though we mourn his passing, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and take comfort in knowing that he now rests peacefully in the presence of the Lord.”

Funeral Service: Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.
Lunch: Saturday, January 10, 2026 following the service at the Harwood Community Center.
